Happy Birthday, Erica!

Disney is offering a free ticket on your birthday for Florida residents, so we all went for the price of James (which is outrageous). We went to the Animal Kingdom. Spencer had so much fun! It was a blast. There were animals everywhere and so much to see.

This is Spencer playing a drum. There was a drum display set up and people could just walk up and play what they wanted. Spencer loves making music!

At the nature preserve/petting zoo, we got to meet Flippy the turtle. Flippy is a 12 year old box turtle. Spencer loved him. Flippy didn't bite like our turtles do. Spencer actually petted his shell, but I couldn't get the shot, and he wouldn't do it again.
This is at the entrance to the petting zoo/nature preserve area. These bronze elephants made our little guy concerned. He was scared for Mommy to touch them and he wouldn't even come near.

Our family shot with Pooh Bear. He was so excited to see all the characters he watches/reads about. We also saw Tigger, Mickey, Goofy, Eeyore, and Jimmy Cricket. Pooh and Mickey were his favorites by far. We had such a fun day. I can't wait to go back when he is a little older. Disney is one of the many perks of living in Florida. We understand this more now that we have our little guy.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy/James

To celebrate Father's Day, we headed to Bowditch Beach on Fort Myers Beach. I woke up early and made James' favorite; egg, cheese, and bacon on English muffins for breakfast and Club sandwiches for lunch. I packed the cooler and we were at the beach before the crowds arrived. It was high tide so, we had to set up camp on a dune and everything that was built was very soggy. After eating lunch we headed home with an ice cream from the snack bar. Spencer really loved the ice cream push pop thingy he ate. It was everywhere by the time we got home. I had to wash the car seat.

For dinner I made we had the Giddens over. I made a lasagne with salad and Rita brought this super yummy pumpkin dessert. All the Daddies were happy with full bellies.

The Floor Mattress

Saturday evening we headed over to the Strachan's new home (they just moved a couple of weeks ago) for dinner and swimming. When we got there, they had just finished the guest bedroom and there was a full sized mattress in the dining room floor. Spencer and Tate had a blast "jump jump"ing on the mattress. Spencer has to say "jump jump" while he is jumping. They were so cute!

When we were in the process of moving to Fort Myers, James had our old guest bedroom mattress in the floor of the living room. We had just gotten Teddy, so every evening James and Teddy would lay around on the "Floor Mattress." They even watched the Lightening win the Stanley Cup in 2004 from the Floor Mattress.
